The next round of the ACU S3 Parts Trials Championship is on Sunday August 7 and is the Astley Trial, organised by the Westmorland Club, starting from the Old Asbestos Works, Kentmere near Staveley in the heart of England’s Lake District.
Last year’s trial was seen as a hidden gem, with a great course, rarely ridden by trials bikes and showed there is a wealth of terrain available for these prestigious championship rounds.
As well as the S3 Championship route which will be of a severity expected for this series, there is also a separate supporting clubman course which will be a very sensible route for regular clubman course riders in the north.
Entries are still available from Cliff Kendall, 220 Valley Drive, Kendal, LA9 7SL and the entry forms are on the ACU website (acu.org.uk – Sporting News/Trials/S3 Championship/Astley regulations and entry forms) and on Trials Central from the calendar page for August 7 (trialscentral.com).
This is an excellent trial and one not to be missed if you enjoy proper trials in the north.
