Last weekend the Phoenix Tools Premier motocross Championship visited Foxhill Moto Parc for a 2 day meeting which was rounds 5 & 6 in the series which also incorporated rounds 3 & 4 of the 2-stroke and Evo/Super Evo Championships. Saturday started with nigh on perfect conditions with the sun shining but by mid-afternoon the heavens were to open which made things a bit tricky, but never the less on Sunday for round 6 after some more rain overnight the track was to gradually dry and was to produce some good quality racing.

In the Gabriel Insulations Expert Championship there was no stopping wildcard entry Jake Shipton (Pictured No 731) on the Crescent Racing KTM who took a hat trick of wins on the Saturday with the D S C Cornwall Kawasaki of Sunny Thompson and Championship leader Jamie Skuse on the Tony Maunders Racing Suzuki battling it out for 2nd and 3rd respectively in all 3 races. Shipton again was to dominate all 3 races on the Sunday, but he had to work a bit harder in a couple of the races to get past Thompson who tried his all to keep Shipton at bay, but it was a big ask as once Shipton hit the front he was to ease away.

In the M D Racing Over age classes there was a no nonsense performance from Championship leader in the over 35's Wayne Shimell on the Tyremarks Husqvarna who shone above the rest on both days to notch up 6 wins out of 6, but it wasn't plain sailing for over 40's Championship leader Stuart Rawlings who's day started off bad in the opening race as he made a few mistakes in what was a wet race which was to be won by the Gabriel Insulations Honda of Steve Elford who had returned from a bad injury. Rawlings was to mke ammends in the second moto with the win, but in the last moto on Saturday he was in a battle royal with Chris Brown on the Cheddar Mx Honda who was to hold off Rawlings to take the win. Sunday however was a different kettle of fish as Rawlings was to get the better of Brown who had led the opening 2 races early on to take the wins then won the last race from start to finish. In the Over 50's again it proved a good weekend for Mark Roberts who took the overalls on both days where he was to notch up 5 wins with the other race win going to Championship leader David Ford.

In the R C Motorhomes Championship round 3 saw Will Worden carry on where he left off at the last round where he took his first race win by taking the first 2 races by storm then finishing 2nd in the last race behind winner Ben Milward on the Inchains Yamaha to give him the overall on the day. Sunday though was a different day and it belonged to Championship leader Leighton Holmes who took all 3 races, but not so good for Worden who after leading the second race grinded to a halt when his bike blew and with no spare bike this ended his weekend and with it has let Holmes pull away in the standings.

The Evo/Super Evo Championship class there was very few riders so they were to be put in with another group where Ricky Brown was to shine in all 3 races on the Saturday to take the overall ahead of Championship leader Andrew Williams who only rode in 2 races. Williams was a non Starter on Sunday which was to cost him the Championship lead, Brown was to take a hat trick of wins and has now moved up into 2nd in the standings behind Adam Plant who now leads by 36 points with 2 rounds remaining.

Tyron Cleaver on the Thornbury Mx/Brad Turner KTM returned to the Tony Maunders Junior Championship in style on Saturday and was to dominate the first 2 races and looked good to take the third race, but Championship leader Harry Linton who hadn't had the best of starts in the first 2 motos had a better one in this one and was soon to pass Cleaver and from there went on to take the win which was to continue for Championship leader Linton on Sunday where he had a better day and notched up a hat trick of wins to extend his lead in the Championship.
