With just 2 of our 8 champions crowned, the series finale at Canada Heights is shaping up to be a fitting conclusion to the 2015 Michelin MX Nationals season.
Steven Lenoir, Dyer & Butler KTM took the Pro MX2 crown at Hawkstone & was joined by Henry William FEEHILY KTM who took the MXY2 Nationals title with a round to spare.
So who will be joining them in claiming a Nationals Crown?, let's take a look at those still in with a chance & who will be taking home the coveted Michelin Cup for the first time.
In the Berkshire Cycles Sw85 class Lewis Hall has an impressive 99 point lead over Second placed Louie Kessell .So Lewis will be trying to clinch the title in his first race but will have Sam Nunn, Drew Kemp & Preston Williams looking to take the Win.
The BW85's class sees the top 4 positions covered by only 53 points. Jack Bintcliffe leads the standings but only has a slender 11 point advantage over Jed Etchels. Fellow Kawasaki teamster Dylan Woodcock was a non-starter at Hawkstone Park but still holds third place in the standings, although Ben Clark will now have aspirations on the 3rd place position in the standings now his deficit to Dylan is a slender 4 points.
With the Maxima Oils MXY2 crown claimed by Henry Williams, who will join him on the championship podium? James Carpenter will be looking to maintain his second place in the standings & will look to go one better after taking second overall at Hawkstone. Hoping to join them on the championship & event podium will be the trio of Alexander Brown, Joe Jefferies & Josh Coleman.
In the RFX junior clubman Lee Tolan will be hoping to claim the title on day 1 at Canada Heights. The chase is on for second & third in the standings with just 5 points separating Tony Cadman & Jake Thompson. Jake took 2nd overall at the previous round & will hope to carry the momentum forward to the final showdown.
The Bell Helmets supported Experts series has been well supported in its first season, different locations have seen entry's swing from from the Mx1 to Mx2 class and vice versa.
MX2 is headed by Kieran Banks who takes a 57 point lead into the final round, chasing him down will be Mitchell Lewis the only rider to defeat Kieran at round 5. Non starters at Hawkstone Daniel Brough & Ollie Osmaston will be hoping to retain 3rd & 4th in the standings respectively but with Jacob Joyce just 5 points adrift of Ollie it's all still up for grabs.
In MX1 Luke Mellows leads the way after a maximum 100 points haul at Hawkstone. He is followed by Leighton Holmes who will be looking to close the 16 point gap on Luke over the 2 days action. Will Orritt & Junior Thomas are still in with a mathematical chance of taking the crown but will endeavour to claim a podium place in the standings.
With the Prox Pro MX2 crown having been claimed by Steven Lenoir at the previous round, Steven will be on board a 450 at the Heights, so which of the KTM young guns will be out to take the win. Second in the standings is currently held by Jake Millward with a slender 17 point lead over Liam Knight. Rob Davidson & Nathan Dixon will be looking to have a strong end of season ride and make an impression on the podium positions.
Kristian Whatley returned to the series at round 5 after having to miss Weston due to injury. He still leads the championship standings, but after 2 impressive wins at Hawkstone Park Graeme Irwin has closed the gap to a slender 7 points. Martin Barr will be hoping to keep the pressure on the leading 2 & with only a 10 deficit on Whatley the top 3 positions are very much up for grabs.
The final class that still remains unclaimed is the Michelin Cup. The impressive trophy & sponsorship packages will be awarded to the winner as well as the other 2 riders on the podium. This class is unique in the fact that all classes are entered as long as they using Michelin tyres.
Leading the way is Pro MX1 Rider Graeme Irwin, he takes a 24 point lead into the final round over Luke Mellows from Expert MX1.Third place is currently held by Louie Kessell who rides in the Small Wheel 85's.
