European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway this weekend
Top Fuel Bike.

Rikard Gustafsson has a 17 point lead ahead of multi-time and reigning champion Ian King.  Gustafsson won here at Santa Pod in round one and King won at Hockenheim.  Filippos Papafilippou is 24 points behind King and reached the final of the Main Event here at Santa Pod.

Previous winner of the event Steve Woollatt could shake things up as could Rene Van Den Berg who won the first round of the ACU Championship this year.  Newcomer Nick Milburn is in fourth spot.  Three Funny Bike riders Stuart Crane, Bob Brooks and Glenn Borg will be trying to record their first six-second passes during the weekend.

SuperTwins.

Martijn De Haas has dominated this year’s championship, winning both rounds.  He is 44 points ahead of his nearest challenger Job Heezen who has been runner up in both events.  Ronny Aasen looks to have cured the problem of the pistons/rings and has been running 6.7 to 6.8sec bracket recently.  Roman Sixta recorded his first six-second pass 6.725 recently at Tierp in Sweden, on his new bike.  Petr Ceska is riding Sixta old bike and is on a learning curve.

Pro Stock Bike.

Fredrik Fredlund the reigning champion has a 40 points advantage over Hockenheim winner Gert-Jan Laseur going into the last round.  With 14 bikes entered it could be a 16 bike eliminator, so a lot of points up for grabs.  Karl-Heinz Weikum is 21 points behind Laseur and Alex Hope mathematically is in with a very slight chance if the three riders ahead of him have problems.  Two other riders to look out for are Robert Karlsson who ran 6.982-193.95mph at Tierp recently.  His daughter Ellsa recorded the quickest et by a European rider in Europe at the same event with a time of 6.959sec.  They could decide who wins the championship.

Super Street Bike.

Richard Stubbins won both opening rounds of the Super Street Bike Cup and won at Tierp last w/end.  Stubbins has a 55 point lead over Garry Bowe.  Mogens Lund won the third round in Hungary and is 23 points behind Bowe.  Thomas Granica has had to good outing in both Germany and Hungary.  Other riders like Dave Holland the et record holder could win the event, as could Shawn Buttigieg and Steve Venables the reigning champion.  If the weather and track conditions are good we may see the first six-second pass for a Super Street bike in Europe.
