The North East Motorcycle Racing Club have joined with the Darlington and District Motor Club to revive the Battle of Britain meeting at Croft Circuit. These races meetings were very popular in the 60’s and 70’s prior to the closure of the closure Croft Circuit in 1981.
The circuit which reopened in 1995 has seen a number of historical meetings reintroduced. NEMCRC Motor Cycle Racing Club situated in North Shields have had discussions with Darlington and District Car Club agreeing to revive the meeting to coincide with the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain in 1940.
Croft was a Canadian Bomber Base during World War 2 and contact has been made with the Royal Canadian Air Force to commemorate their efforts and achieve an input from that organisation.
The meeting was always and will remain a mixed Bike and Car occasion with the NEMCRC having secured the final round of the 2015 FSRA/ACU British Sidecar Championship for this event.
There will be a programme of eight solo races (250GP to 1200 unlimited). And Two Sidecar Championship races and a full programme of Car events over the two days
A special Battle of Britain Trophies have been struck for the overall winner, with special awards for other placing's.
For a weekend of car and bike racing together with the final round of the ACU/FSRA sidecar championship Croft is the place to be on the 26th/27th September
