This Sunday July 26th the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Premier motocross Championship takes on a new venue to the series in the shape of Pontrilas Nr Hereford which will play host to round 5 in the 10 round series.
In the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Pro Expert class it’s Welshman Shane Carless on the Oakleaf Motorsport Honda who heads the standings by 36 points from the Tony Maunders Racing Suzuki of Jamie Skuse who moved up in to 2
nd at the last round as Alfie Smith was a non-starter, but Smith on the Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna returns from injury this weekend still in 3
rd place in the standings just 5 points ahead of team mate Alex Snow who is gradually clawing his way back up the standings after a crash at round 2. There are many other riders in attendance including James Harrison who will be sticking with a 350 Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna like he did at the last round rather than a 250, Ross Hill on the Gabriel Solution Services Honda, Tom Moore on the A D Homes/Wulfsport Suzuki, the Dave Thorpe Off Road Honda of Todd Kellett, Ross Keyworth on the Meredith Suzuki, Ben Hunt on the G L R Yamaha, the Cab Screens Yamaha of Dan Thornhill and Sunny Thompson on the D S C Cornwall Kawasaki who is returning from injury and wildcard on the Crescent Racing KTM Jake Shipton plus many more.
In the Tony Maunders Expert Open Championship it’s the Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna of Charlie Putnam who heads the standings by 21 points from David Keet on the Danger UK Husqvarna who will be looking to close that deficit with James Kensington on the Tony Maunders Racing KTM there in 3
rd just 16 points adrift of Keet but as with the opening couple of rounds there are plenty of other riders that will be looking to do well like Josh Taylor, the D S C Kawasaki pairing of Ben Butler and Jack Stevens, Sam Gabriel, Jake Penny, and Lewis Barfoot to name a few.
In the M D Racing over age classes its defending Over 35 Champion Nick Life on the Gibbs Performance/St Blazey Yamaha who heads the Over 35 Championship by 44 points from the Readypower KTM of Rick Hanson (Pictured No 13), but unfortunately Life will be a non-starter after knocking himself out at the British Veterans Championship last weekend and with the new ACU ruling has been suspended from riding competitively for 9 days, so Life’s leads could be in jeopardy. In the Over 40’s class it’s the Crescent/New Milton Tyres Suzuki of Terry House who is top the standings from Chris Brown on the Cheddar Mx Store Honda with the T R Engineering Yamaha of Richard Green there in 3rd, but they will be joined by many others. In the Over 50’s defending Champion Mark Gleadhill still leads the Championship from Graham Beale with Adrian Toy there in 3
rd.
In the Tyremarks Junior Championship class its Jamie Carpenter on the Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna who has a commanding lead over Billy King, but moving up in to 3
rd at the last round is now the Tony Maunders Racing KTM of Jay Lewis who will have to be at his best as right on his heels in 4
th is Jason Brooke just 4 points adrift, but they will be joined by many others which will include many wildcard entries.
