The ACU U23 Enduro squad continued their European campaign in Croatia. The squad were also joined by European Champion Tom Sagar in the Senior E2 Class as well as Jamie Lewis in same class making return after long injury. Rhian George was contesting the Women’s category and 4 Welsh team riders were also present.
Buzet was a small picturesque town, and impressed all. The course would be 3 laps of 56km each day with two Special tests very much of Enduro style each lap. At end of day riders reported it was a superb course with some of the best Special tests they had ridden.
The ACU U23’s produced excellent results on Day 1: Joe Wootton won the Junior E2/3 class with Josh Gotts taking 5th. James Dent 6th and Rob Johnson 10th, Norrie Frazer took points with a 14th place.
Jake Subachus was 8th in J E1 and Fraser Flockhart was 9th in that class. Lee Sealey was in Runner Up in JU20 class. Tom Sagar won the SE2 and Jamie Lewis took 6th in same class. Rhain George did well to complete 3 tough laps and was happy with 9th spot in Women’s category
Day 2, saw it all happen again. Fraser Flockhart improved to 7th, Jake Subachus 10th. Lee Sealey retained 2nd in JU20 despite a back injury. In JE2/3 Joe Wootton again won the class proving he is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Josh Gotts retained 5th spot in that class and Rob Johnson moved up to 6th. James Dent was 8th, Frazer Norrie 14th.
In Senior E2 Tom again won class with Jamie Lewis improving to 4th. Rhian George came home in 10th spot in Women’s group.
The Welsh team riders continued their experience with Charlie Evans scoring points each day and Aaron Martin, Adam James and Garin Rosser all putting up good performances and learning their trade.
When the prize giving took place, it was Tom Sagar who had won the whole event overall and with Joe Wooton and Lee Sealey also taking podium places in their classes and the UK effort had been superb
Thanks to all support teams who work so hard to ensure such success.
