The third round of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship powered by Skye Energy heads to the Canada Heights circuit in Kent on Sunday 3rd May.
During the winter months the Sidcup Club have been working hard to give the sand based circuit a major revamp and it is now being run in the opposite direction with the track turning right at the top of the start straight. Due to the new layout the spectators will be treated to being able to watch all the early race action in full view of the main public areas.
In the MX1 class reigning Champion Shaun Simpson will be looking to continue his perfect win streak on his Hitachi Construction Machinery REVO KTM UK, while LPE Kawasaki’s Tanel Leok will be hoping to stop the streak and start closing down the point’s gap. Just three points further back is former British Champion Kristian Whatley on the Buildbase Honda, who showed great speed at Lyng last time out.
Other riders looking to move forward in the MX1 championship include Gert Krestinov, Martin Barr, Brad Anderson, Jake Nicholls and Graeme Irwin who will be looking to the overcoming the bad luck suffered at Lyng.
In the MX2 class Hitachi Construction Machinery REVO KTM UK’s Ben Watson currently holds the Red Plate but is tied on points with Dyer and Butler KTM’s Steven Lenoir, while Adam Sterry on the Wilvo Forkrent KTM climbed up to third in the points after Lyng.
Bryan Mackenzie on the Pendrich Heights Services Kawasaki currently hold down fourth place just ahead of Monster Energy DRT Kawasaki’s Max Anstie who dominated the second round at Lyng with three race wins after missing the opening round.
Canada Heights also features the second round of the MXY2 class and following the close racing between last year’s runner up Ollie Osmaston and Jay Hague the racing is sure to be exciting. Osmaston currently leads the standings by just 3 points ahead of Hague, with Henry Williams in third.
The action starts at 9am with the Qualifying sessions with the first of the main races off the line at 12.15pm. Canada Heights is adjacent to the M25 motorway, approx. five miles south of the Dartford crossing using the postcode BR8 8DX
