Saturday and Sunday, 21st and 22
nd of March, saw the 2015 UK Road and Track Championships fire into life with rounds 1 and 2 being held at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire. With a great entry of riders signed up and the sun shining with blue skies all weekend, the scene was set for a perfect weekend of racing.
With Silkolene now supporting the Championships and a great prize purse for Super lightweight, Junior and Senior events at the end of the year, competition was going to be tough from the first green light and with the best 12 from 14 rounds counting, every race was important towards the end of season overall.
On Saturday the paddock filled up and riders signed on. It was great to see UK stars Ivan Lintin and James Cowton along with the likes of the Goodings brothers – Mark and Mick, Jamie Coward and Carl Simpson supporting the event and ready to get 2015 underway.
Super Lightweights 400cc – 650cc:
The Super Lightweights got things started and the big news was a DNF by James Cowton! Not the start to the weekend he was looking for. Jamie Coward also DNF’d but no such problems for Ivan Lintin won took the chequered flag ahead of Mick Goodings and Joseph Broomfield.
On Sunday James Cowton bounced back from a tough Saturday taking the win from Ivan Lintin and Jamie Coward in 3

So finally, the big bikes were out on the track in the Senior class. With engine sizes from 700cc to 1100cc, riders have the option of quick and nimble or just brut power! When the green light came on for race one, it was Carl Simpson with the holeshot ahead of James Cowton. These two were on fire and making the Cadwell track look easy! Lap after lap Cowton was close but couldn’t quite make the pass. By the finish line, it was a great ride for Carl Simpson taking the win ahead of James Cowton and Mark Goodings rounded out a great Saturday with 3

Sunday - round 2. Ivan Lintin had fixed his problems from Saturday and in the practice looked in much better shape. As the lights went green it was Carl Simpson again taking the lead with Lintin buried in the pack. In a masterful display, Lintin carved his way into 2
