Dan Peace took victory at the final round of the ACU British Class A and B Youth Trials Championship at Bracken Rocks, Holloway on Sunday.
The Kirbymoorside teenager clinched the Class A age group championship ahead of Telford contender Thomas Minta and Porlock MRS Sherco team rider Tom Hooper. Hooper was in contention for the Class A title until a heavy crash in the Scottish event on the second day caused knee and ligament damage which brought an immediate visit to Kilmarnock hospital.
Truro youngster Toby Martyn riding RCM Beta also won the trial on Sunday and the Class B championship from Stafford's Sam Yeomans. Jack Peace took third place. Martyn was tipped as favourite for the Class B title before the first trial at Wolversleigh last March winning four out the seven trials in the series and stood on the rostrum at every trial.
