THE BEACH RACE AT WESTON CELEBRATES ITS 30TH YEAR
The 2012 Beach Race at Weston, scheduled for the weekend of 13th and 14th October, will be the 30th anniversary of the biggest event on the UK off-road calendar. To mark this milestone, RHL Activities are planning an event that will surpass anything seen before in the three-decade history of the race.

The racing, on the now infamous Weston dunes course, will once again be the centrepiece of the event, with RHL Activities working to set up a showdown with two of the most successful racers in recent years.

Stefan Everts needs no introduction. A legend of motocross with ten world titles to his name, the Belgian has won on the Weston course twice in the past, with his second victory coming in 2008, the last year he contested the event. RHL Activities are currently working closely with Everts to bring the Belgian back to Weston for the 30th anniversary of the race.

David Knight MBE is another rider who needs no introduction, especially to followers of the Beach Race at Weston. The Manxman has won at Weston on no fewer than seven occasions, six times in the solo class and once on a quad. A celebration of 30 years of the Beach Race at Weston would be incomplete without the most successful rider of recent years, which is why RHL Activities are currently working hard to ensure the three-time World Enduro champion lines up on the start line in October.

But Weston isn't just about the big names. What has made the Beach Race at Weston so successful over the past 30 years is the enthusiasm and commitment of every rider taking part. Without the support of these riders, and their families, the Beach Race at Weston would be a far smaller, and far less exciting, event.

For the 30th anniversary of the Beach Race at Weston RHL Activities are offering £99 entry for those riders who sign up to the event before 31st April. Entry forms are now available for download from www.rhlactivities.com.

As always, RHL Activities are planning a whole host of off-track activities that are guaranteed to keep the whole family entertained throughout the race weekend. Bars, barbeques and bands will provide the fun during the evening, with plenty of activities and displays planned to keep young and old alike entertained during the day.

Ticket prices will remain the same as in 2010, with special offers and significant discounts available for those that purchase tickets early. Ticket deals will be launched on the official website on Thursday 5th April.

"There aren't many races that have stood the test of time like the Beach Race at Weston, which is why we are determined that this year's event will be the biggest in its 30 year history," declared Gareth Hockey, Director of RHL Activities. "We want the best riders battling it out in the biggest field ever and enough off-track activities to keep everyone entertained from Friday morning until Sunday night. That's what we're working towards and I am confident we can make the 30th anniversary of the Beach Race at Weston a very special event for everyone."
