Junior 65s....Albie Wilkie started the season like a runaway train but the London Express has given the buffers a couple of glancing blows recently with unfortunate injuries disrupting his season. Heroically Albie fought through the pain barrier at Rd 2 Norley thus keeping his championship lead intact and exited with a 94 point total. If indeed he does makes it to Mepal he might have to grit his teeth once more however following his recent troublesome shoulder injury. Out of all the divisions on the boil the 65s is possibly shaping up to be the closest to call with Tom Hume on 90 points, Taylor Hammal 84, Keenan Hird 76 and James McFayden 72 with all of them proving they can be individual race winners.
SW 85s...In the SW 85s Oliver Osmaston remains unbeaten with a perfect 10 out 10 race wins so far. As the proceedings at Norley came to a close however last years Junior 65cc Champion Conrad Mewse gave a hint with his final race runners up finish that he is now entering a rich vein of form that may well challenge the four stroke Honda riders dominance. As in previous years the SW pack this term are proving to be a particularly hungry and talented bunch, hence be on the look out for storming performances from Josh Gilbert, Robert Yates, Sam Braithwaite, Sid Evans and Greg Hyett as they all hang tough in the frenzied chase for points.
BW 85s...Ben Watson, back on the two stroke KTM, back at the top of the BYMX Championship standings after winning the opening two rounds and back in his favourite deep sandy conditions - so you wouldn't really be backing against him as the HM Plant pocket rocket goes for a third win in a row. If anyone can upset Ben it will most likely be Wales finest Ben Howell as he looks to reduce his 12 point BW championship deficit. The Honda four strokers could well have there work cut out to stay on the pace in the spindle deep Mepal sand but its a sure fire fact that the competition will be electric all the way down the card as messers James Harrison, Adam Sterry and Liam Garland battle it out with Connor Clark, Sam Winterburn, Jack Kelly and Mickey Eccles just to name a few in this super competitive section
Open Youth....With two top draw contenders Ryan Houghton and Jamie Mc Canney both sidelined following the injuries they sustained at Norley the youth Open section now comes into a much sharper focus at the business end with Team Greens Connor Walkley and HM Plant KTM,s Nathan Watson seemingly having it all to play for. Connor has won the opening two rounds with three individual race wins to his credit but Nathan has proved with a brace of runners up place finishes and a similar three race wins to his name that there is very little to choose between the pair in racing terms. Connor has amassed a 100 point total so it goes without saying that Nathan really could do with a win to close the gap as he sits on 88 points. Gary Sharp is currently in third on 74 followed by Luke Norris on 71, Tom Kelly 69 and Bradley Pocock rounds out the top six on 66 points. Brad has been on the wrong end of a few unfortunate incidents in the series to date but with a brace of blistering wins in Cheshire to bolster his confidence it will be interesting to see how far the Dixon Cosworth Yamaha runner can now push on to improve his championship position being also a real contender to take the overall Mepal honours.
Two Strokes...Also on the card in Cambridgeshire there will be the second round of the two stroke adult championship. At the opening round Josh Waterman, Matt Moffat and James Dunn proved to be the race winning hero's in a cracking little bonus show.
