This weekend round four of the Maxxis British sidecarcross championships will take place at Wooley Grange in Co Durham and will be hosted by the North East motocross club.
Nearly thirty of the country’s top riders have entered plus Neil Campbell / Ross Graham from Ireland plus Clint Grabham from Australia and his English passenger Dug Woods. Also amongst the ‘wild card’ entries is Chris Etheridge who will be replacing son Jack who is out of action with a badly broken collarbone. Chris won the British title ten times in his career and although he hasn’t ridden for a while he is still fit keen to do well. He told me this morning that he is confident of leading into the first corner but after that who knows!
Currently leading the championship are defending champions Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain who are eighteen points ahead of Jenkins / D.Chamberlain. In equal third place are Wilkinson / Parmenter and Breacher / Breacher. After a disaster in the opening round at Mepal Daniel & Joe Millard picked up three good results at Frome and are up to seventh place already and will be looking to go even higher.
In addition to the three sidecar championship races there will be races for four classes of local solo riders.
Practise starts at 09.00hrs with the first race due off at approx 11.00hrs. The track is alongside North Lane near Stanley Crook. For those with sat navs the nearest postcode is DL15 9AN
