The event is the centenary celebration of the world’s first ’Scramble’. Held on Surrey Heath in 1924, the Southern Scott Scramble paved the way for all off-road motorcycle sport including motocross, enduro, grass track and more. The original event saw competitors traverse over 100 miles offroad on the adapted road machines of the day. The event held this Sunday is a recreation of the original format, on part of the original course.
The event is supported by the Surrey Heath Museum, and the Mayor of Surrey Heath will be in attendance, alongside former World Champions and hundreds of people joining this fantastic celebration. Event partners include Triumph, Belstaff, Castrol and Imprimatur.
With have over 150 motorcycles booked in, from 1920’s Rudge’s and Velocette’s, through to 1960’s BSA’s and AJS’ on to the 1980’s Kawasaki’s and Husqvarna’s before modern day KTM’s, Gas Gas’ and Sherco’s. We even have an all electric Stark competing as we lean into the next century!
